The Geisha varietal coffee from Hacienda La Esmeralda in Panama has created a buzz around the world. Each year a very limited amount is grown at a very unique piece of this farm and auctioned to eager buyers from specialty coffee companies. And for anyone who has been lucky enough to have a cup (beans that Intelligentsia is selling for $50 per 1/2 pound), they know exactly why this coffee is so sought after.
As luck would have it, Intelligentsia has procured a portion of the 2009 “Geisha” lot and is making tastings available for free on Tuesday at both the Venice and Silverlake coffeebars.
